Purpose of the Position/ Role Summary The incumbent within this position will provide leadership and oversight within the diverse Supply Chain Management functions, and responsibilities within the North American region. Directing and aligning all activities of material acquisition, product demand forecasting and planning, inventory control, managing the acquisition of product within third party manufactures, and the on-time, in-full distribution of product to the customer. Level setting the expectations and measurables for the Supply Chain Management organization to those of the region’s Commercial, Operations and Finance present year and long-term strategic plans. The is role will, as appropriate, collaborate and communicate with the Supply Chain Management leadership within other regions to ensure “best practice” application to systems and processes are in place.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide leadership and oversight within the diverse Supply Chain Management functions, and responsibilities within the North American region with a strong focus to attraction, development, and retention of leaders and key subject matter experts who can effectively work across the enterprise to deliver against customer demand, and support cost effective, sustainable, high quality supply chain processes.
  • Set the expectations and measurables for the Supply Chain Management organization and be the voice of Supply Chain Management to level-set the deliverables against those of the region’s Commercial, Operations, and Finance organization’s present year demands and long-term strategic plans.
  • Serves as the steward to the region’s S&OP processes and systems.  Working collaboratively with Commercial and Operations in development and maintenance of demand forecast modeling.  Assuring there is alignment to the appropriate resources and credibility within the systems supporting effective/efficient product planning, and on-time, in-full customer order release.
  • Drives the effective balance to inventory management.  Pulling the appropriate levers to assure inventory cost is managed against budget targets, while coordinating with Operations to ensure finished goods inventory can best deliver to customer demand. 
  • Liaisons with Quality to support procurement and delivery of materials and components that fall within established specifications.  Provides appropriate influence on Vendor/Supplier relationships and ensures support, within the Supply Chain teams, are assigned to matters which need resolution.
  • Owns the management of Third Party/Contract Manufacturing relations to deliver against set product delivery expectations.  Creates the appropriate alliances within those organizations who, through a 3rd-party relationship, product for Bimeda customers, and develops and fosters effective customer relationships to entities for which we are a Contract Manufacturer.
  • Aligns with R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial Marketing in support of activities related to new product development and new product launch.  Seeking opportunities to leverage existing vendor/supplier relationships, and cost-effective attainment of materials and components, as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or Business/Operational Management, with emphasis in Supply Chain Management principles

7-10 years of progressive growth in a supply chain management function, within a pharmaceutical and/or direct to consumer goods manufacturer.  At least 3 -5 years as leader/manager of a traditional supply chain manager function/team

Strong Business and Financial Acumen

Working knowledge and understanding of S&OP principles and systems, inventory and vendor management solutions, and ERP systems and solution.

Strong communications skills displayed through effective written communications, both technical and non-technical, and the ability to present in a manner of influence and impact

General understanding and appreciation for cGMP, GMP and operating within a regulated/validated system and environment

Displayed ability to apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance operational goals and objectives. Understands and appreciates the impact effective supply chain management has to operational excellence and profitability.

Desirable:

MBA and/or Master Certificate in Supply Chain Management

Experience in and ownership of an operational P&L
