Responsible for the full project management and co-ordination of new product launches in Europe, including new products developed by Bimeda, in-source products, new pack sizes, new product variations and other NPI iterations; development, embedding and ongoing optimisation of NPI processes, as well as engagement with all stakeholders involved in NPI and coordination of related tasks; finding solutions to prevent delays with minimal stock write offs, the tracking of product launches and the reporting of product launch statuses; sharing best practice and building relationships with all stakeholders. This role is also responsible for the project management of all tasks related to the development of packaging artwork, including ‘day to day’ scheduling and monitoring of all packaging development tasks within the Artwork department.

Key responsibilities:

New Product Launches – Process and Involved Stakeholders

  • Be responsible and accountable for the co-ordination and project management of new product launches and all tasks required as part of this process
  • Develop specific product launch plans, clearly defining the scope and assumptions, with inputs from the relevant functional areas and track execution of the plan
  • New product launches refer to the launch of any new SKUs, whether these are new products developed by Bimeda, in-sourced, line extensions or new pack sizes
  • Develop, embed and seek to continually improve (CI) NPI processes and ways of working in conjunction with other NPI colleagues in Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Commercial and Marketing
  • Ensure all stakeholders understand their role in the NPI process and the actions which trigger their tasks
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and bring project management expertise to ensure the timely completion of tasks required for timely NPI launches
  • Identify and find solutions to potential barriers to timely product launches
  • Identify any external process stakeholders and build their role into the NPI process
  • Identify and implement methodologies to ensure products are launched within the shortest possible timeframes

New Product Launches- Reporting

  • Ensure senior stakeholders are informed of the progress of product launches on an ongoing basis
  • Seek direction / decisions from Senior Management on any required changes in Strategy for product launch

New Product Launches – Outcomes

  • Ensure product launches take place in accordance with agreed timelines and endeavour to reduce timelines

New Product Launches- Best Practice

  • Proactively seek to share best practices with stakeholders in other regions and assist with the project management of NPI in other business units, as required
  • Adopt a CI mindset and seek to constantly refine and optimise NPI processes


Artwork and Packaging Project Management

  • Liaise with Regulatory Affairs to understand artwork priorities
  • Schedule all packaging artwork tasks accordingly and ensure timely progression
  • Engage with stakeholders in other departments to ensure timely close out of artworks
  • Project manage any projects related to changes to packaging and artwork
  • Liaise with third parties (suppliers, distributors, print houses) to ensure seamless completion of artwork tasks
  • Tracking and reporting via Bimeda systems (Kanbanise etc)

Other Requirements: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management
  • Relevant qualification in project management
  • Proficiency in a mainstream project management software, ideally Microsoft Project
  • Experience in the veterinary or human pharmaceutical industry
  • High level of emotional intelligence, and ability to motivate and influence process stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Experience of scheduling / prioritizing tasks
  • Knowledge of print processes/ packaging development
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Team Leadership
  • Ability to interact with people across all levels in the organisation
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

The role will require working across time zones (e.g. California) and may therefore require some evening work to allow for calls with other locations involved in product launches
