Reporting to the R&D Supervisor, the R&D Analyst is responsible for the performing analytical testing to support the R&D Department.

          Key role requirements:

  • Carry out analytical testing on samples to support the activities of the R&D department and provide technical support as required by management.
  • Carryout Analytical Method Verifications, Analytical Method Transfers and Validations as requested
  • Maintain the stability schedule for pre-commercial stability campaigns of appointed products.
  • Follow current analytical practices with reference to pharmacopoeias, specifications, regulations and industry standards.
  • Calibrate and maintain all designated laboratory instruments and bring to the notice of the R&D Supervisor any discrepancies, deviations or non-conformances in testing or work practices.
  • Maintain all laboratory Notebook, records and paperwork to an acceptable GLP standard and maintain and follow all relevant SOPs.
  • Review and Check basic and advanced area documentation (Laboratory notebooks, laboratory reagent logbook, SOPs, Protocols, Reports and Specification Sheets).
  • To ensure that work is carried out in compliance with the organization’s quality system. Ensure that quality documentation is generated and updated to reflect current best practice and that this is done in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members and other department functions to achieve common goals

          Other requirements:

          Essential:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience within an analytical laboratory environment
  • BSc Degree in Chemistry or other related discipline
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills
  • Previous experience with HPLC and Dissolution
  • Basic understanding of quality systems and cGMPs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-initiating / self-directed
  • Ability to troubleshoot analytical issues

 

          Desirable:

  • Previous experience with Empower software
  • Previous experience with HPLC
