Reporting to Equine Sales Manager, this position is responsible for working in their respective territory to understand and identify veterinary clinic and customer needs. By taking effective and innovative initiatives, this Equine Sales Rep will be committed to broaden customer base, enhance product exposure, and strengthen customer communication and relationship. This role will also collaborate and support Equine Sales Team by reviewing and planning sales performance and strategies specifically for Equine portfolios from time to time, to ensure alignment of resources and market demands and maximum of sales profit

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

Territory Sales Management

  • Function as key point of contact for all and any matters within the defined Territory relating to sales of Bimeda’s Equine products to the Ethical Veterinary Channel
  • Territory with include both Primary and Satellite regions
  • Primary Territory responsibilities will be Kentucky
  • Satellite Territory will include major equine accounts in;
    • Indiana
    • West Virginia
    • Virginia
    • Kentucky
    • North Carolina
    • South Carolina
    • Louisiana
    • Mississippi
    • Alabama
    • Georgia
  • Satellite Territory responsibilities will be to focus only on key equine markets within the Satellite territory. Priority on travel to and travel frequency will be based on Maximizing Sales and Profitability within the entire Territory.

 

Major Commercial Development Activities

  • Connect with key decision makers at Veterinary Practices to maximize sales of Bimeda products to those practices. 
  • Connect with key personal within Bimeda’s Veterinary Distribution channel to maximize sales of Bimeda products.  This will include.
    • Travel with and relationship management of Distributor Outside Sales Representatives 
    • Relationship Management of Distributor Inside Sales Representatives
    • Relationship Management of Regional Branches of Bimeda’s Distribution partners within the territory
  • Develop and Communicate a Travel plan within the territory to support sales of Bimeda Equine Products for Primary and Satellite regions of the territory.  Execute the travel plan

Marketing Initiatives

  • Attend tradeshows within the territory to support sales of Bimeda’s Equine Products
  • Support and Communicate Bimeda marketing programs within the territory as required to all levels of target consumers of those programs.  This could include Veterinarians, Veterinary practice staff, distribution, and end consumers.
  • Provide monthly updates on sales trends and challenges.

Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Work with management to create territory sales and cost budgets
  • Manage the territory to achieve the sales budgets and maintain and control travel and territory costs.
  • Monitor current sales performance compared to budget and ensure you are on track to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
  • Monitor move-out of Bimeda products using Ag Data Reports

Commercial Team Cooperation

  • Participate in conference calls
  • Interact with and report to Equine business Unit Manager on a routine basis to discuss current market trends, ongoing action plans etc.
  • Interact with Technical Services Department
  • Interact with the Marketing department
  • Attend Regional and National meetings as required

Qualification/Requirements

 

 

 

  • Greater than 2 years of sales experience in Animal Health industry, Equine product portfolio preferred
  • Ability to set a sales objective and build and execute a sales plan
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales/business management, life sciences or other relevant education
  • Strong background/knowledge in Equine Animal Health products and market
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to build and foster effective relationships across the business region, with the customer based with the territory, and with distributor sales and sales management.
