Bimeda Aqua / AquaTactics is seeking an experienced microbiologist and diagnostician to manage the AquaTactics diagnostic laboratory and complete diagnostic certification analysis and R&D work relating to fish health.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostic Laboratory Manager

  • Upgrade, equip, operate and manage a fish diagnostic laboratory
  • Offer AFS compliant and Title 50 certification and inspections throughout the US
  • Help to manage fish pathogen culture collections
  • Manage diagnostics for clients, with occasional field visits to obtain requisite samples

Vaccine Development and Research

  • Assist with R&D activities relevant to vaccine development
  • Assist and help field personnel with occasional sample collection and submission
  • Publish both grey literature articles and scientific peer-reviewed papers
  • Participation and coordination of clinical trials as required
  • Applying and securing SBIR and Research grants to perform studies on various disease aspects in partnership with key clients, and running both wetlab and production trials


  • Assisting with Regulatory Affairs at keeping company compliant and working on various registration and learning it to the extent of assisting in the offering of services to external entities
  • Learning regulatory affairs and assisting with various existing and new INAD packages


  • Participate and present at various fish health conferences nationally and globally.
  • Participate in all aspects of the company (products and services) as needed and available



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with advanced graduate or veterinary degree an asset
  • Demonstrable experience and expertise
  • AFS Certified Fish Health Inspector (or eligible)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Self-starter with high energy level and ability to multi-task
  • Strong verbal, presentation and writing skills in English required
  • Proficiency in writing technical documents and translating technical information to a lay perspective
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office


  • Knowledge of fish health diagnostics
  • Basic statistical knowledge for clinical trials
