Purpose of the Position/ Role Summary



To support the Production Supervisor and to perform all manufacturing process operations within the Packaging Area and be responsible for Goods In; ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practise (GDP) guidelines are always adhered to.   



Key Role Specific Requirements 

Support Production Effectiveness 

 

  • Ensure that the standard operating procedures within the packing area are followed exactly at all times. 
  • Ensure that all products are packaged into the correct packaging and all documentation is completed promptly and efficiently.  
  • Report any problems or breakdowns to the Production Supervisor / Engineer immediately. 
  • Report any errors, deviations, or non-conformances to the Production supervisor / Quality Assurance immediately. 
  • Ensure product from the packing area is moved to the designated space in the main warehouse.  
  • Ensure the location of packaging stock, record keeping and monthly stock counts etc are kept up to date. 
  • Ensure that the working area and equipment / machinery are left clean and tidy after use. 
  • Ensure that the packaging operations are kept running efficiently by carrying out any additional tasks.  
  • Responsible for Goods inwards, i.e., receipt of all items delivered including paperwork. 
  • Maintain good health, safety, and environmental practice at all times. 

 

New Project Implementation 

 

  • Support the Production Supervisor to ensure successful new project implementation as and when required.  

 

People Management 

 

  • Allocate tasks to support personnel in the packing area; ensuring that the employee’s time and skills are fully utilised. 
  • Support other members of the team as required to ensure the effective running of the business. 

 

Continuous Improvement 

 

  • Play an active role in the site’s continuous improvement plan by generating JDI’s, A3’s etc. 
  • Identify and participate in sustainability improvement projects to reduce the site’s carbon emissions.

Other Requirements 

Essential: 

 

  • Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations (or equivalent) or internally trained. 
  • Team player, flexible with good organisational skills. 
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills. 
  • Ability to propose solutions to problems encountered. 
  • Ability to use own initiative and work without close supervision. 
  • Understanding of GMP, Health & safety and Environmental Awareness. 
  • Numerical and literacy skills. 
  • Manual handling training. 

 

Desirable: 

 

  • Lean Manufacturing.
